Since 2010, the journal Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice will be the official magazine of the International Diabetes Federation. Ann Keeling, CEO and Executive Director of Fidelity, said today on the occasion of the 20th World Congress on Diabetes: this partnership will help the Federation to continue with its reputed tradition of sharing information and best practices with the global diabetes community. Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice to be our official magazine, will show the activities and the investigation conducted by the IDF to members of the Federation of more than 160 countries. It will help expand our reputation within the scientific community. Since its introduction in 1985, Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice has become a source well-known and respected of new findings, reviews by peers and comments on international clinical research and patient care. In addition to the dissemination of research on this practice, Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice is particularly well regarded in terms of quality and speed of review by other professionals, and their influence and readership is growing. Its editor in Chief, Stephen Colagiuri, commented: this is a new and exciting era for the magazine, which presents considerable opportunities to further enhance its appeal to the international diabetic community.
Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice is published monthly and is indexed in MEDLINE and PubMed. From January 2010, certain IDF Diabetes Atlas research papers will be published in the magazine. Andrew Miller, Executive Editor of Global Medical Research, Elsevier, commented: this new affiliation between Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice and the International Federation of Diabetes is the culmination of 25 years of growth of the magazine. It is now a mature, effective and dependable source of professional information for scientists and physicians from all over the world, reflecting the Mission of the IDF. To work with colleagues of the FID and doctor Colagiuri and its editorial team, we hope to combine Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice with the activities of the IDF, and thus, provide a greater service to the international diabetic community.
