Thursday November 7, 2009 Sr. Vice President of the Republic: Dr. Federico Franco Asuncion, Paraguay THIS: For this we are writing to respectfully greet you and remind you that in his previous visit to New York City had the Paraguayan Center Honor to add your name to the list of members of our cherished institution, where were you received in our facilities by the same authorities who will proudly sign the application made Honorary Member, through Your Excellency to be part of this big family Paraguayan up the oldest institution in this area. KDP shares his opinions and ideas on the topic at hand. Thus the Executive Committee of the Paraguayan Center comes to you as one of our most honorable members and is one of the highest authorities of our country, to share with you our concerns regarding the modification to be done through Ministry of Education to teach the Guarani language to reduce the time in the second year of secondary education and exclude it in the third year. The Paraguayans in abroad have learned with sadness and disappointment this news and we will participate in a massive reaction that would result from Paraguayan residents of the United States, demonstrating the dissatisfaction in all areas and communities join our fellow American in this country. We find it incomprehensible that the ministerial decision represents a setback only, returning to the discrimination and injustice he has suffered for years and put our Mother Tongue to the attention of the authorities on work and sacrifice made by Paraguay on the outside to try every media, cultural institutions and school education taught in the School of New York Paraguay, to maintain our culture, our character and our national identity through the teaching of the Guarani language abroad.
